A new Clearing Fast Track service has been launched by the University of Essex to make results day quicker and less stressful for prospective students by allowing them to complete most of their Clearing application before they even receive their exam results.
Students can register through Clearing Fast Track from today – over a month ahead of A-level results day on Thursday 13 August. Their application will be reviewed as soon as results become available, enabling the University to make offers more quickly and reduce the amount of administration required on one of the busiest days in the education calendar.
The initiative means eligible applicants can submit their details in advance, and the University will assess their application as soon as results are released. Where results are available through UCAS, applicants will be contacted on results day morning with either an offer for their chosen course or information about alternative options if appropriate.
For applicants whose results cannot be accessed automatically, the University will provide guidance on how to share their grades so their application can continue without unnecessary delay.
Emma Ellis, Deputy Director of Admissions at the University of Essex, said: "Results day can be an anxious and exciting time for students and their families. Clearing Fast Track is designed to remove as much pressure as possible by allowing applicants to complete the application process before results are published. That means we can review applications more quickly and, where possible, make offers sooner, giving students greater certainty about their next steps."
The University has also extended support for applicants on results day, with its Admissions Team available by phone from 8am to 8pm, alongside live chat support on their website to answer questions from students and, with the applicant's permission, their parents or supporters.
The launch of Clearing Fast Track forms part of the University of Essex's continued focus on improving the applicant experience, making the Clearing process simpler, faster and more responsive at one of the most important moments in a prospective student's journey.
