Double delight as Wivenhoe House Hotel scoops AA awards

The University of Essex’s pioneering hotel school is toasting double success after being recognised by the nation’s leading guide.

Wivenhoe House Hotel has been awarded the coveted AA 4-Star Silver Award alongside an AA Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence, cementing its reputation as one of the county's leading destinations for visitors, diners and overnight guests.

The awards are among the most respected in the hospitality industry, with the Silver Award recognising hotels that go above and beyond in delivering exceptional guest experiences, while the Rosette celebrates restaurants serving food of outstanding quality, creativity and consistency.

The double accolade is a major boost for the historic hotel, which sits in picturesque parkland on the outskirts of Colchester and welcomes thousands of guests each year.

Edge Hotel School

The Grade-II listed guest house, famously painted by John Constable, is partnered with Edge Hotel School – which gives students hands-on experience in a real-life 4* hotel to launch their careers.
