A vibrant volleyball celebration of cultures, community and sport is set to entertain Colchester.
The Essex Rebels’ international extravaganza Nations Unite returns for its third family fun-packed year on Sunday February 1, with tickets on sale now.
Visitors can expect a packed programme of entertainment throughout the afternoon, including a flag parade, dance performances, giveaways, and a live DJ.
Prizes are also on offer with a range from merchandise and food vouchers to Amazon gift cards and Colchester Zoo tickets.
The sporting showpiece is a Super League double-header, with both men and women’s squads facing the University of Newcastle in what is expected to be a fierce and high-quality contest at the top level of English volleyball.
And it follows the Rebels smashing the volleyball attendance record earlier this season.
Relive the fun from last year below -
“We are very excited to once again host Nations Unite,” said Essex Rebels Manager Diana Voynova.
“This event truly represents the diversity of our campus community while also showcasing our high-performing athletes.
“We would love to welcome the wider community to join us in this cultural celebration.”
Nations Unite is more than just a game and is designed to bring together cultures, nationalities, and traditions from across the world.
The Rebels hope the occasion will not only celebrate the sport’s global reach but also introduce newcomers to volleyball and the club’s gameday experience.
Head of Volleyball at the University of Essex, Alex Chinery, added: “We’re delighted that Nations Unite is returning for another year.
“The past two seasons have seen us take memorable victories and we’re hoping to do the same again.
“Newcastle will be tough opponents and perfect for what promises to be a great occasion. Come down to the Essex Sport Arena and join the party!”
Fans are encouraged to bring their flags, wear their colours, and represent their heritage in the stands - reinforcing the event’s message of unity through sport.
Doors open at 1pm, with the women’s fixture at 2pm followed by the men’s match at 4pm.
