Angels@Essex celebrates four years of supporting business

Investment platform Angels@Essex is celebrating its 4th anniversary and registering close to 200 high net worth individuals, syndicates and fund managers with global reach.

Angels@Essex is a free, invitation-only investment platform, provided by Delio, that links Angel Investors to entrepreneurs with innovative ideas, allowing new disruptive technologies to flourish.

Some 155 innovative founders have been guided through Angel@Essex's tailored investment readiness process and so far 120 of these have collectively raised £76.8m equity since they joined the Angels@Essex programme. The collective post equity raise valuation of these businesses is £614m, contributing to the growth of the UK economy.

As a UKBAA member, Angels@Essex is recognised as investor in the UKRI Investor Partnership Programme, the Scale Up Institute, and industry monitor Beauhurst as an Accelerator. Angels@Essex also delivers investment readiness to UKRI Catapults (Offshore Renewables; Space East) and DCMS Creative Growth programme, alongside Creative UK.

Business Support Manager John Stenhouse, who leads Angels@Essex, said: "Future plans include regular live pitch events and the creation of an Angels@Essex Enterprise Capital Fund with the British Business Bank ECF programme to co-fund University spinouts."
