Natalie Howard was initially unsure about her career path, but then she fell in love with events. Now she is graduating with a degree in Events Management with Hospitality and has secured a job at top hotel Milsoms as an Event Manager.

Natalie said: “If I was struggling at any point then there was always someone who would be there to help” and that’s why she recommends Edge Hotel School to prospective students.

To Natalie, being involved in every opportunity provided by the Edge Hotel School, especially being a student ambassador, was very important. She said: "This helped me become more confident in myself and with speaking to professionals.”

Natalie also helped out at the BRITs  in 2021 which was a life-changing experience for her. “It was an amazing event which held so many rewards, the opportunities Edge presents us with are one of a kind and it’s amazing to gain experience within such a fast-paced industry,” she said. At the BRITS she loved the opportunity of “serving and speaking to various celebrities like Gemma Collins, Jack Whitehall, and Little Mix.”

Natalie believes that her education at Edge Hotel School gave her “the framework and understanding” of what is expected in a management role and that definitely helped when she got to work as an Event Manager for Milsom Hotels. She is responsible for staff training, managing the day-to-day events, developing staff from below, maintaining high-class standards, of food, drink, and service, and supporting managers in the restaurant. Natalie credits Edge Hotel School with giving her “opportunities to work with industry professionals and giving us opportunities to plan events like The Edge Ball” which gave her the confidence and skills to succeed in her role as an Event Manager.

She gives a special mention to Edge Hotel School lecturer Jennifer Kaye who “would always be more than willing to help anyone”.
