Edge Hotel School students at royal wedding

More than 40 students from our Edge Hotel School got the chance to work at the royal wedding on Saturday.

Edge Hotel School students were called upon to help deliver hospitality to the happy crowds along the procession route, through connections with a previous graduate.

Lecturer Jennifer Kaye said: “The students are known throughout the hospitality industry for their professionalism and are often selected to help out at high profile events, such as the BAFTAs, but this one, in particular, is a great honour.”

It was an early start for everyone as they left our Colchester Campus at 3.30am to be in place for the event.

Students Bethany Stimpson from Clacton, Helena Green from Stratford St Mary, Marielle Albano from St Osyth and Jess Oliver and Lauren Armstrong from Colchester, agreed the long day was worth it.

Bethany said: “We all jumped at the chance to be part of the Royal Wedding, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
