The Bouyges team hand their cheque to the Essex team

Seven student projects being kickstarted on our Click crowdfunding platform will receive a boost thanks to a generous donation by construction firm Bouygues UK.

Bouygues UK are currently building The Copse, our new 650 bedroom student accommodation complex, and the project team raised £1,700 for Click with a Christmas raffle.

The money will be split between seven student projects, getting their crowdfunding campaigns off to a great start.

Mathias Talpaert, Construction Director for Bouygues UK, said: “We wanted to do something that would bring Bouygues UK’s delivery team for The Copse together with all our subcontractors on site, and at the same time raise some money for a good cause.  Dion and Carolina organised a really fantastic raffle and we were delighted with the amount raised.

“The Click Crowdfunding Platform is a brilliant way to support students and we identify with this entrepreneurial spirit of collaboration, innovation and partnership.”

Mathias presented the cheque to Bryn Morris, our Registrar and Secretary, at The Copse site and then led a University delegation on a fascinating tour of the new accommodation.

Click has so far helped 170 student projects, from sports teams in need of new equipment, to budding entrepreneurs starting their own businesses.

James Martin who leads Click said: “This is a really generous donation, and will make a huge difference to the work we do with our students on Click. We are so grateful to Bouygues UK for choosing to support us, and to everyone who took part in the raffle.”
