New space for SMEs as Parkside Office Village expands

More SMEs will soon find a home at Parkside Office Village on our Knowledge Gateway research and technology park, as construction gets underway on phase two.

Following a hugely successful first phase, Parkside Office Village at our Colchester Campus has become a hotspot for small businesses. More than 20 SMEs now form our thriving business community and benefit from excellent research links and facilities. The second phase will add 14,000 sq ft of vibrant, modern office space by autumn 2018.

Bryn Morris, Registrar, said: “Parkside is a key part of our commitment to supporting businesses to deliver economic growth in the eastern region.

“The first phase proved very popular with innovative companies who see a close association with our University – which is in the UK top 20 for research excellence – giving them a competitive edge. We’re looking forward to welcoming new businesses to our community.”

The Knowledge Gateway research and technology park is fast becoming the location of choice in the eastern region for knowledge-based enterprises in science, technology and the creative sector.

As well as the second phase of Parkside Office Village, work is underway on the Innovation Centre, which will provide space and hands-on support to help 50 start-up companies grow and succeed.
