Adapted rooms
We have a range of individual needs rooms with various adaptions, including:
- Wheelchair access
- Hearing impairment enhancements/adaptions
- Emergency call point/panic alarm
- Kitchen adaptions
- Automated doors
- Shower room adaptions including grab rails and emergency call point/panic alarms - shower seats can be requested if not already available. In all cases, the grab rails and shelving can be adjusted for each individual
- All rooms are provided with a low-level, non-adjustable steel bed frame and mattress. Non-standard, specialist equipment, for example, a height-adjustable bed or hoist, must be provided or supplied by the student
Although every effort is made to assist in making reasonable adjustments to suit the needs of individuals, further funding and support may be required to arrange more specific specialised adaptations and equipment.
Further information and a guide to applying for accommodation can be found in our accommodation accessibility brochures below and on our access and disability pages.
Additional Accommodation Considerations
We understand that some students may have specific medical conditions or allergies that don't require structural room adaptions but do necessitate particular living arrangements. This is something we can adviser upon and take into consideration in room allocations.
