Excellence in Education Award

The Excellence in Education Award (EEA) is inspired by the University’s mission to achieve excellence in both education and research. We aim to provide students with a transformational education experience and intellectually challenging and stimulating courses that are based on creative and innovative approaches.

The EEA recognises and celebrates our institutional commitment to enabling our students to contribute positively to communities and societies around them.

Award categories

There are three categories available. These can be submitted by self or peer nomination.

  1. Excellent Graduate Teaching/Laboratory Assistant Award.
  2. Excellent Educator Award (individual or collaborative): open to academics and/or professional services.
  3. Excellence in Education Leadership Award: open to academics and/or professional services.

Who can apply?

All full- and part-time members of staff with responsibility for supporting the student learning experience are eligible to apply. This includes Professional Services staff in supporting administrative roles as well as academic staff and GTAs. Applicants from UK Essex partner institutions are also welcome to apply.

How to apply

To apply, complete the application form (.docx) and submit it electronically via the Excellence in Education Award Moodle site.

  • Celebration event via Zoom: during Induction Week (WC 20 Sept 2021)
