Join us for an interactive OSH event offering a clear and realistic view of careers in occupational safety and health; including how people enter the profession, what roles look like in practice, and what employers are actually looking for, and a free networking lunch

This interactive event is ideal for students, career changers, IOSH members, recruiters and OSH leaders. Discover routes into the profession, meet employers, explore training options and gain real insight into what OSH careers look like today.

It brings together speakers from across a wide range of sectors, including:

  • Regulators (including HSE inspectors)
  • Higher education and research safety
  • Healthcare and charity sector
  • Construction, high-hazard industries, and consultancy
  • Film and broadcast environments

The format is intentionally interactive, with a networking lunch from 12:00 followed by speed mentoring and “day in the life” discussions, followed by short talks and panels focused on routes into the profession and recruitment insights.

This may be particularly useful for:

  • Students exploring career options in any sector where they can work across an organisation, influence outcomes, and engage at all levels
  • Technicians and operational staff who may be interested in progression into more specialist safety roles
  • Researchers with an interest in research safety, compliance, or responsible innovation
  • Anyone considering roles in risk, compliance, safety, or operational management across different sectors

There are also some more specific links:

  • Science and health disciplines – for those considering safety-focused roles in labs, clinical, or regulated environments
  • Nursing and health students – particularly those with an interest in occupational health pathways
  • Film / media students – for insight into safety in broadcast and production settings

The event is free to attend and includes lunch and should be useful whether attendees are actively considering a career in OSH or simply want to understand how safety fits into different sectors.
