Art Exchange Welcome Week and Freshers Fair 2023

We're getting out our badge-making kit and inviting you to take a moment away from the sometimes hectic atmosphere of campus to get crafty.

This Welcome Week and Freshers Fair you can take part in a variety of FREE arts and crafts activities with the Art Exchange team, explore our latest exhibitions and discover the cultural hub of campus on Square 5!

Activities

• Stop by our Welcome Village stall (Mon 2 to Thurs 5 October, 11am to 2pm) and Freshers Fair stand (Fri 6 October, 11am to 4pm) to take part in our FREE painting activity, join us to paint Constable's Wivenhoe Park! We'll provide the materials, YOU bring the creativity!
• Visit our gallery on Square 5, Mon 2 to Fri 6 October, 11am to 5pm to discover our brand new exhibition, I Put a Spell on You, which explores new mysticism and magic.
• Visit the ground floor and first floor of the Albert Sloman Library to explore our William Blake: Prophet Against Empire pop-up exhibition in collaboration with the University of Essex Library Services Special Collections from Thurs 5 October.
• Join us for the launch party for our I Put a Spell on You exhibition on Thurs 5 October from 6pm in the Art Exchange gallery! Enjoy free food and drink, explore the artworks on display and hear from our curatorial team. Open to everyone, free and no need to book!
