 All research staff and PhD students with an interest in the work of the NIHR ARC East of England are invited to meet ARC Director Professor Wendy Wills, who is visiting the University of Essex Colchester Campus on 24 and 25 April. There is a range of ways that you can join in with this visit, to find out more about the NIHR ARC East of England, what it involves and how you can get involved the future of the ARC and future opportunities for Essex and the other ARC Universities, and the benefits of engaging with the ARC.

Monday 24 April

There will be spaces available for 1-to-1s or small group meetings with Professor Wills, where you can have informal discussions about opportunities for engagement with the NIHR ARC East of England.

These will be available from 9:30am -12:30pm, in half-hour slots, in The Groves Room in Wivenhoe House Hotel.

  • your name and names of colleagues, if a small group
  • University departments and
  • preferred time

Tuesday 25 April

Professor Wills will be running an informal workshop in the morning, from 10am -1pm, bringing together a larger group of people to give an overview of the NIHR ARC EoE, its role, opportunities and benefits of collaboration etc.

This will be in the Lakeview Room in the Silberrad Centre.

Lunch

A light lunch will be available from 1pm - 1.45pm

Walk and Talk

In the afternoon, from 1.45 pm -3.45pm  there will be a fun opportunity to join Professor Wills for a game of disc golf and a walking tour of the Colchester campus, to enjoy the lovely grounds of the University while discussing the ARC further with Professor Wills and other colleagues.

(An alternative venue will be available for some casual activities should the weather be terrible!)

Tea

The afternoon’s activities will finish with tea and cakes in the Lakeview Room (in the Silberrad Centre), from 3:45pm-4:30pm, where you can conclude any conversations while enjoying some well-earned refreshments.
