Do you have an appetite for change? Discover more about the perceptions of Veganism with Norman Riley.

We have organised a 30-minute talk from Norman Riley Assistant Lecturer and Postgraduate Research Student in the Department of Sociology. In this talk, we will learn more about his research on veganism and why he chose this field of research.

Norman is interested in perceptions of veganism and Nonhuman animals in working-class communities. His MSc dissertation explored Thatcherite social housing policy through a human rights framework and his MA dissertation looked at representations of vegans/veganism in UK national newspapers. An edited version of the MA dissertation has subsequently been published as an article in the Journal for Critical Animal Studies. He also produces and hosts the Football and Society podcast which explores sociological studies based on the beautiful game.
