Human Rights Speaker Series: The importance of investing in our future leader’s education in poverty-stricken countries.

Speaker:

Pamela Abiola (LLM alum) is the Co -Founder of Revive Congo, a non-profit organisation set up in 2012 to help educate Congo’s future leaders between the ages of 8-21 in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the United Kingdom. Whilst setting up Revive Congo, Pamela completed her Law Degree at the University of Essex and went on to complete her Masters in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. She is extremely passionate about being an asset in the Human Rights & International development field, particularly campaigning and advocating for the rights of others to be protected, respected and fulfilled. She is also all about helping women set and achieve goals for their life so that they can become the best version of themselves through her life coaching services.

About the Event:

Revive Congo which turns 10 this year is a registered charity based in the UK on a mission to educate and equip people between the ages of 8-21 in the DRC & the UK. We are currently supporting the schooling of orphans in the capital city Kinshasa whilst running a summer annual youth programme in London for young Congolese people between the ages 14-18 years to help them build their aspirations after research found that they were academically underachieving in the UK. This event will discuss the work of Revive Congo and will be of particular interest to undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in these crucial human rights’ areas.
