Res Life: Getting Settled In

Join your RAs in Colchester and Southend at one of the many events on campus.

Residence Life is here to promote community on campus so participating in our programmes is a fantastic chance to try something out for the first time, meet someone new, and overall have fun! 

Over the Autumn and Spring term, your RA will be hosting a number of programmes for their residents. Our programmes are a way to bring students together in new or existing activities. Wait for an email for an RA who will let you know details of what they're planning. Some RAs may plan something new for you to experience, and some RAs may chose to take you to an an organised event on campus or in the local area. Previous RAs have planned and hosted:

• board game evenings
• quiz nights
• trips to the local town
• self-care evenings
• group get-togethers to go to SU events 

During Welcome Weeks, there will be a couple of opportunities to attend something and meet your RA. If you're nervous about meeting others, or looking for company to help get settled in to life at Essex, joining our Residence Life programmes are a great way to guarantee somebody to go along with.
