Essex Business School Welcome events

Your department induction is an essential part of Welcome Week. Essex Business School is running a range of events throughout Welcome Week 2022.

Studying more than one subject? If you're studying a joint degree, you should access key support through your home department. If you're not sure which is your home department, you can find out on MyEssex.

Your Welcome week will be a great opportunity to meet key members of staff and gives you the chance to get to know your fellow students who will be studying on your course with you. We expect you to attend as you will receive important information to help you start your university experience. More information about your induction will be sent to your Essex email nearer the time. Remember to check this regularly for dates, times and further details.

Come to the Student Services desk and join us on a tour of our stunning EBS building, the UKs first zero carbon business school building

Getting Started with EBS

• Tues 4  – Friday 7 October: 1pm / 2pm
• Room: EBS Trading Floor

Bring your laptop and let us help you navigate the online systems you will be using whilst studying at Essex Business School. Each session is 30 minutes long with time afterwards for questions and will be run by our knowledgeable Student Services Advisors.

Team up for the SU Scavenger Hunt

• Wednesday 5 October: 10am
• Room: EBS Foyer

Meet at the EBS foyer, gather some team members and have a coffee on us as you complete the SU Scavenger Hunt.

Deans Event

An opportunity to hear the Dean of Essex Business School, Professor Claudia Girardone, talk about her research and EBS. Open to all EBS students.

First year undergraduate students

Welcome to Essex Business School

Monday 3 October 

• Group 1: 10.00–11:30am
• Group 2: 12.00pm–1.30pm
• Group 3: 2.00–3.30pm

Find out about your School, key staff within the department and the upcoming year at Essex. You will also be set the business week task, with study spaces available throughout the week. You will receive an email stating which session you are to attend. Please check your emails carefully, you do not need to attend all sessions.

Postgraduate taught students

Greet and Meet

Come and network with your fellow students, academics and staff. You will have the opportunity to have a professional headshot taken, attend a PGT specific ‘Getting Started’ session or just mingle. Refreshments will be available.

PGT Programme-Specific Induction
