Settling In is an event designed to give mature, commuting and first-generation* students who will be starting at the University of Essex in October 2022 a chance to get an introduction to the university, and to feel at home before the academic year begins.

Join us on Thursday 22 September to learn more about studying at Essex, find out about sports and societies, and see how we can help you to find your feet.

We will have study skills sessions to help you hit the ground running, stories from current students, and a chance to find out what support will be available to you throughout your time here. We’ll also give you some lunch, and have guided tours of the campus and library if you’re interested.

If you would like any more information, please contact skills@essex.ac.uk.

*mature students are those who are over 21 at the time of starting their courses; commuting students are those who live off campus and travel to the University to study; and first-generation students are those who are the first in their families to go to university.
