Our Postgraduate Virtual Week is live now! Join us from Tuesday 3 May and discover more about postgraduate study at Essex.

 

Throughout the week you will be able to engage with on-demand subject talks and taster sessions, daily live talks, virtual tours, and much more. You'll also be able to chat with our students and staff online.

We also have an in-person Postgraduate Open Evening taking place at our Colchester Campus on Thursday 19 May. If you're interested in coming along to this event, you will need to book separately.

Thursday 5 May - International Students

12:00 - Information for International Students

This session is for international students to learn more about finance and funding, regional scholarships, student life on campus, including information about our societies, and what life is like away from the campus.

12:30 - Funding for International Applicants

If you're a student from outside of the UK and want to learn more about the sources of funding which are available to you, come along to this talk. We'll help you understand your options, which may include discounts, loans, scholarships, and more.

13:00 - CAS, Visa and the Graduate Route

In this session we'll discuss everything you need to know about the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), student visas and how to get one in order to study in the UK. This session will be repeated at 8pm.

15:00 - International Student Panel

In this session, some of our international postgraduate students will discuss their experience of studying a postgraduate degree and being a student at the University of Essex.

17:00 - Information for Students from Europe

This session is for students from Europe to learn more about finance and funding, including our regional scholarships, student life on campus, including information about our societies, and what life is like away from the campus.

19:00 - Information for Students from the Americas

This session is for students from North, Central and South America to learn more about finance and funding, including our regional scholarships, student life on campus, including information about our societies, and what life is like away from the campus.

20:00 - CAS, Visa and the Graduate Route (repeated)

In this session we'll discuss everything you need to know about the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), student visas and how to get one in order to study in the UK. This session is a repeat of the one at 13.00pm.

Friday 6 May - Student Experience and Student Support

16:00 - Accommodation

In this session we'll talk about the accommodation we have available for students. There will be an introduction from our Accommodation Essex team (who run all of our accommodation on campus) as well as a panel featuring students who live in the different types of accommodation we have on campus. 

16:30 - Mental Health - Wellbeing and Support at Essex

In this session we'll introduce you to the support and wellbeing services that we have available for our students, both in-person and online. 

17:00 - Employability at Essex

In this session we'll discuss the employability modules which are embedded into many of our courses, the work placement opportunities which are optional for some courses, as well as the student development services that the University provides in order to improve the employability of all of our students. 

17:30 - Student Panel

This session will be led by our postgraduate students. They'll discuss why they decided to study at Essex and why they think you should study with us too! 

18:00 - Postgraduate Research Opportunities

In this session, one of our postgraduate students will discuss research opportunities at Essex, including their Thesis and the 3-minute Thesis competition.
