Thinking about studying linguistics at postgraduate level? Want to learn more about the different fields within this fascinating subject area? Join this free course, meet the experts and find out if linguistics is for you.

This free online course comprises daily sessions, specifically designed to introduce you to some of the most dynamic and cutting-edge topics within the field of linguistics today.

Each two hour session will be delivered by our expert academics, giving you the chance to meet the tutors, ask questions and discover what studying linguistics at postgraduate level is really like.

You can pick and choose which sessions to attend, you will be eligible to receive a certificate of attendance if you attend four or more sessions.

Monday 25 April: Sociolinguistics, 12-2pm BST
with Dr Amanda Cole and Dr Faith Chiu, plus an introduction with Head of Department Dr Tracey Costley

Tuesday 26 April: Theoretical Linguistics and Psycholinguistics, 12-2pm BST
with Dr Faith Chiu and Dr Laurel Lawyer 

Wednesday 27 April: Applied Linguistics, 12-2pm BST 
with Dr Christina Gkonou, Dr Nasser Jabbari and Dr Karen Roehr-Brackin

Thursday 28 April: TESOL, 12-2pm BST
with Dr Christina Gkonou and Dr Neophytos Mitsigkas

Friday 29 April: Teaching Practice, 12-2pm BST
with Dr Neophytos Mitsigkas and Dr Nasser Jabbari
