All are welcome: this is your space to share and talk about climate grief, anxiety, and other feelings around the climate emergency.

What is a Climate Café?

A climate café is a simple, hospitable, empathetic space where fears and uncertainties about our climate and ecological crisis can be safely expressed.

As more and more of us are struggling with feelings of fear, anxiety, anger, grief and sorrow over what is happening with our shared Earth, we are offering a space to talk together about these complex feelings and thoughts which may often be taboo and hard to talk about, and explore what our changing world means for us in terms of impacts at personal, family and societal level. Sharing these thoughts helps us to think about the climate emergency constructively and clear-sightedly, and find that sense of community that is so important.

What happens during a Climate Café?

The focus of discussion is your thoughts and feelings about the climate and ecological crisis. There are no guest speakers and no talks, and it is an advice-free zone. While the climate and ecological crisis is usually the main focus of the café, we realise too, in these exceptional times, that COVID-19 is another life-threatening preoccupation and needs a space to be explored – and this can happen here too.
