Your department induction is an essential part of Welcome Week.

 

Below are details of the events being held in the Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies throughout Welcome Week 2021.

Monday 4 October 2021

10.00 – 11.30am  Meet your Personal Tutor (new UG students)  

12.30 – 14.00 Welcome to Your Course (new UG students) , hosted by  Dr Julie Walsh, Dr Carolyn Laubender, Chris Tanner

14.30 – 15.30 Welcome Back to Your Course (returning Year 2 UG students) , hosted by Dr Julie Walsh, Dr Carolyn Laubender

15.30 – 16.30 Welcome Back to Your Course ( returning Year 3 UG students) , hosted by Dr Julie Walsh, Dr Carolyn Laubender

 

Tuesday 5 October 2021  

10.00 – 11.30am: Welcome to the Department (UG students), hosted by Chris Nicholson  

12.30 – 14.00: UG World Café - A chance to visit different tables and learn more about what the department/university has to offer   14.00 – 15.30: Welcome to your course – Professional Doctorate students, hosted by Professor Sue Kegerreis and Dr Debbie Wright  

13.00 - 14.00: Department PGR Welcome with the Director of Graduate Studies and Meet Your Supervisor

14.00 - 15.30: Welcome to Your Course - Professional Doctorate, hosted by Dr Debbie Wright

14.30 – 15.30: What is Expected of a Student? hosted by  Norman Gabriel - Your chance to find out what it is like to be a student at Essex from Essex students.  This will focus on the academic expectations throughout the year, where you can go for help, where to look for timetables, how to access the library and so on.  Please use this as an opportunity to ask your Peer Mentors questions on any part of being a student.

15.30 – 17.00:Welcome & Welcome Back MA Psychodynamic Counselling students, hosted by Professor Sue Kegerreis 

15.30 – 16.30: MA Jungian Studies online course – online welcome, hosted by Dr Kevin Lu and Professor Roderick Main   

17.00 – 18.00: MA Psychodynamic Counselling students Welcome Back Year 3, hosted by Professor Sue Kegerreis

 

Wednesday 6 October 2021

11.00 – 12.00: What is Expected of a Student? hosted by  Dr Norman Gabriel - Your chance to find out what it is like to be a student at Essex from Essex students.  This will focus on the academic expectations throughout the year, where you can go for help, where to look for timetables, how to access the library and so on.  Please use this as an opportunity to ask your Peer Mentors questions on any part of being a student.

Thursday 7 October 2021
