Department of Psychology induction

Induction into your new department is an essential part of Welcome week.

Your department induction is a compulsory part of Welcome Week. Come and find out more about your course, meet key members of staff like your personal tutor, and meet the people you’re going to be studying with.

Studying more than one subject? If you're studying a joint degree, you should access key support through your home department. If you're not sure which is your home department, you can find out on MyEssex.

Welcome to the Department of Psychology

We will offer opportunities for you to meet your department and peers, find out more about your course and studying at Essex.

Activities (these will vary depending on your year group) will include: 

• A Welcome talk from your year tutor and other key academics (a Welcome Back talk if you are returning to study this year!)
• An introduction to the library, from your subject librarian.
• A student led Q&A session for our new undergraduate first years – a chance for you to find out more about your course and life at Essex from our current students and peer mentors.
• A chance for students on campus to meet members of the academic, admin and technical team as well as peers from your course: collect your Essex bag, bottle and Psychology lanyard before heading off to explore campus with other students.

More information about your induction will be available via email and on Moodle, which you will be invited to via your online registration process.
