University of Essex is working towards the Silver award for a Hedgehog Friendly Campus accreditation.
Hedgehog numbers in the UK have declined by up to half since the year 2000. It is now estimated that there are fewer than 1 million left. Becoming a Hedgehog Friendly Campus means that the University of Essex will become a safe space for hedgehogs to thrive.
We are running a survey training event on Thursday 1 October for you to learn how to get involved with surveying Hedgehogs on our Colchester campus. Following the online training session, we will be heading out on Friday 2 October to place tunnels around the Colchester Campus.
To be involved you need to attend the online training session and be free on Friday 2 October between 10.30am-12.30pm to put out the tunnels.
Places are limited, so please sign up via Eventbrite to get involved.
