Teamwork, Resilience and Crises in the Armed Forces
Lockdown has created multiple crises for organisations, placing their staff under unprecedented strains. But some organisations frequently carry out their work under similar conditions, structure themselves accordingly and train for situations like this all the time.
This lecture is based on Dr James Fowler’s own experiences of lockdown conditions whilst in the Armed Forces. Dr James Fowler will briefly discuss the kind of workplace behaviours lockdown engenders, but his main focus will be three systemic managerial approaches that the Armed Forces use to inure and protect their staff while working in highly uncertain and unprecedented situations.
