Professor Terry McGenity from the School of life Sciences will be giving his Professorial Inaugural Lecture at the University of Essex
For more than three billion years microbes have co-evolved with the Earth. But what are the physical and chemical limits to microbial life? Are some microbes immortal? Could life exist beyond Earth? Professor McGenity will address these questions in his Professorial Inaugural Lecture, focussing on ultra-salty environments, such as deep-sea brines and subterranean salt deposits.
Lecture starts at 6pm followed by a drinks reception from 7.15pm.
Free admission and open to all. Book your place via Eventbrite.
