Join the Centre for Intimate and Sexual Citizenship and Dr Tirion Havard for an insightful seminar.

Dr Tirion Havard is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Work in the School of Health and Social Care at London South Bank University. Dr Havard's areas of interest relate to violence against women and girls. This includes research into the influence of mobile phones in the coercive control of adult heterosexual women as well as girls and young women in gangs.

Dr Havard will draw on her research with women survivors of domestic abuse, to show how mobile phones provide opportunities for perpetrators to maintain power and coercive control in the domestic abuse of their current and former partners.

Tirion joined London South Bank University in 2009 following a long and successful career in the Probation Service where she worked with a wide range of offenders with complex and multiple needs who posed a high risk of harm to members of the public. She took a particular interest in working with domestic violence offenders and has carried this into her academic career.

This seminar is part of an open seminar series, hosted by CISC.  To find out more about the Centre for Intimate and Sexual Citizenship visit our website and follow us on Twitter.
