Our annual Careers Fair is our biggest (and arguably most important!) event on campus that you can attend as a student before you graduate. It's the best place for you to meet lots of top, graduate employers, whilst discovering what opportunities await you post-graduation.
During the event you will meet large, national employers from the Times Top 100 Graduate Recruiters list who have graduate schemes, placement years and summer internships on offer. There will also be lots of other organisations that are looking to fill their exciting opportunities for students and graduates.
Graduate recruitment is a competitive market, so make sure you follow our advice for preparing for the fair so that you stand the best possible chance of impressing the employers exhibiting. Everyone attending will be happy to talk to you, but if you’d like some advice about how to approach employers first, make the Student Development stand in the central Essex Village your first stop.
We’ll also be handing out Careers Fair brochures and leaflets on the day, which include our top tips for approaching employers. You can grab one of these from the Student Development gazebo on Square 3 and at the registration desk for the event in the Essex Sport Arena.
Aside from meeting the employers, you can come and speak to your Student Development team in our central Essex Village at the event. We’ll be on hand to give you advice and support and help you make the most of your time at the fair. There will be lots of other UoE departments here too, including our HR team, Postgraduate Admissions and more! The SU’s V-Team will also be here so you can find out about volunteering opportunities locally. So make sure you stop by at the Essex Village to explore your options on campus.
If you’re travelling from our Southend campus to attend the Careers Fair, make sure you speak to one of the receptionists at the Forum who will be coordinating the travel arrangements.
You don’t need to book onto this event, just turn up - bring your student ID card - and start speaking to exhibitors!
