The School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering will be hosting CEEC 2019, the 11th Computer Science and Electronic Engineering Conference.

Hosted at Colchester Campus, this three day conference brings together experts across computer science, mathematics, physics and electronic engineering to discuss, debate and collaborate on the latest research. Themes and topics include; the Internet of Things, natural language processing, robotics, and data science.

The full agenda for the event will be released closer to the time. Our current schedule is;

Wednesday 18th September 9am to 5pm

A series of tutorials presented by researchers or professionals with expertise in particular topics. Current confirmed tutorials include:

  • Data Science for the Internet of Things
  • Design and applications of brain-computer interfaces
  • Processing, Analysis, and Classification for Neuroimaging Data
  • Signal processing for estimation of vital signs from wearable sensors

Thursday 19th and Friday 20th September 9am to 5pm

These two days will feature keynotes from speakers including: 

  • Professor George A. Constantinides, Imperial College London - "Rethinking Arithmetic for Deep Learning"
  • Dr Mehrnoosh Sadrzadeh, Queen Mary University of London - "Principles of Natural Language, Logic, and Tensor Semantics"
  • Dr Lonneke van der Plas from the University of Malta - "Natural Language Processing for Creative Thought: Predicting Novel Concepts"
  • Professor Peter Cochrane OBE from the University of Suffolk - "Science and Engineering Out of The Box!"
