The notion of sum-free sets dates back to the days of Issai Schur who showed that whenever we partition the set of natural numbers into a finite number of parts, one of the parts contains three integers x, y and z such that x+y=z.

In this talk, we discuss some open questions on the study of sum-free sets in finite groups and some of their applications.

This seminar will be presented by Dr Chimere Anabanti of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, hosted by Professor Gerald Williams.
