This seminar will be held by Dr Marco Mason who is a specialist in Design Research for Digital Cultural Heritage.

This seminar will focus on Design Thinking and how it can be applied to digital projects in the heritage and museum sectors. In particular, it will shed light on the conditions that can allow Design Thinking to take place inside museums.

Dr Marco Mason is lecturer at the Northumbria School of Design. He is also affiliated with the university of Leicester and Derby Museum, where he is Digital fellow for the project “One by One. Building Digitally Confident Museums”.

He has been researching and teaching in leading research centres (in ITA, USA, and UK) that seek an interdisciplinary approach at the intersection of design, digital humanities/heritage, museum studies, and social science for the study of digital media design and its practices. Marco successfully conducted two Marie Skłodowska Curie projects both focused on Design Thinking, and was also finalist for the prestigious ERC Horizon 2020 Programme with a similar project.

This event is free. All are welcome to attend.
