The Essex MBA Degree Apprenticeship Workshop aims to support the development of an MBA degree apprenticeship at Essex Business School. We want local levy paying employers to contribute to the design of an innovative programme that will ensure aspiring senior leaders in local organisations can access high quality, targeted training that supports their career progression.

The Essex MBA Degree Apprenticeship Workshop

What is a degree apprenticeship MBA?

A degree apprenticeship MBA programme is identical in content to a traditional MBA; this is historically the gold-standard in business qualifications, ensuring participants develop a range of interpersonal and functional business skills in everything from strategic management to financial planning to sustainable business development to help them become more effective professionals.

However, participants on a degree apprenticeship MBA can fund their studies through their employer’s apprenticeship levy, meaning there are no upfront costs for the participant. It also ensures that employers have the opportunity to use their apprenticeship levy to support the professional development of their best talent.

Participants on a degree apprenticeship MBA are released by their employer for regular teaching sessions delivered in blocs of a few days, over a period of two years. For the rest of the working week, they are in work as normal. Their MBA studies are embedded in their professional role so they can immediately apply their learning to enhance their performance and output.

Developing The Essex MBA Degree Apprenticeship

As we continue to design our degree apprenticeship MBA, we want to hear from local levy paying employers about the type of programme that would be most suitable for their employees. With the input of local businesses, we can be confident that the programme we design will support the local economy and ensure that the next generation of business leaders have the skills and experiences to navigate their organisations to a successful future.
