Housewarming is an event designed to give mature or commuting* students who will be starting at the University of Essex this October a chance to get an introduction to the university, and to feel at home before the academic year begins.

Join us on Friday 21st September to learn more about studying at Essex, find out about sports and societies, and see how we can help you to settle in.

We will have study skills sessions to help you hit the ground running, stories from current mature and commuting students, and a chance to find out what support will be available to you throughout your time here.  We’ll also give you some lunch and, after the last session of the day, a guided campus tour if you’re interested.

If you would like any more information, please contact tdc@essex.ac.uk

*mature students are those who are over 21 at the time of starting their courses, whilst commuting students are those who live off campus and travel to the University to study.

Talent Development Centre

The Talent Development Centre supports all University of Essex students to achieve their potential and succeed in their studies.  We offer teaching, workshops, drop-in advice and online resources to help students with their writing, maths, research and study skills, no matter the discipline or field of study.  We also deliver a range of events throughout Welcome each year, to help new students make the transition into university life.
