The History Research Seminar meets on Wednesday afternoons during term time to discuss a paper by a visiting historian or a member of our academic staff.

This week's speaker is Director of the Centre for Research in Economic Sociology and Innovation, Professor Mark Harvey.

Mark studied his first degree in history at Oxford, followed by a PhD in sociology at the London School of Economics (LSE). He went on to hold the Susan Isaacs post-doctoral research fellowship at the Institute of Genetic Epistemology, working with Jean Piaget at the University of Geneva, before becoming a Lecturer in Sociology and Psychology at Brunel University and a Simon Industrial Fellow at the University of Manchester. Mark joined the Department of Sociology at Essex in 2007.
