The main aims of this book are to introduce the distinctive clinical paradigms of Melanie Klein and Donald Winnicott, to compare and contrast the way in which their theories evolved, and to present a dialogue between Hinshelwood and Abram on the concepts of their respective chapters.
Karl Figlio, Emeritus Professor, will talk about setting up the link and Denis Flynn, current Visiting Professor will talk about the book, followed by a discussion by authors Jan Abram, the first Institute Visiting Professor, and Bob Hinshelwood, also Emeritus Professor.
This is mainly a social event not only to celebrate joint work and research between the University and the Institute but also an attempt at a dialogue between two important British schools of psychoanalysis.
There will be wine and refreshments and you are all kindly invited to come and join us to celebrate.
