Effective Reading Notes

How to take good notes on your reading, and why we do it

Reading effectively is one of the most important skills you need to succeed at university - and in life.

In this workshop we will discuss why and how we make notes from our reading. We will consider the benefits of making notes, such as avoiding plagiarism, saving time and helping our understanding of texts. We will go on to consider the merits of a variety of note-making techniques.

Our workshops run all year round at our Helpdesk in the Silberrad Student Centre, and cover all aspects of academic skills, maths and statistics.  You can also book a 1:1 appointment with an advisor to talk over anything in your studies that you need help with.

Have a browse through the sessions that are available this term, or pop along to the Helpdesk to find out more.
