University isn’t just about getting a good degree – it’s about self-development, discovering new things, meeting new people, and making the most of every opportunity available to you. So come along and find out about ways to make a life-changing experience an even better one. 

Get involved

From Arrivals, right through Welcome, we have loads planned including activities at the University and in the town as well as talks, workshops, arts, cultural and sports activities.  Today's activities will be displayed on the digital screens throughout campus.

Fancy a cuppa, lunch or a drink with new friends?  Your first port of call should be SU’s The Lounge in Elmer Approach.  Across Southend there are cafes, restaurants and bars, which cater to suit all tastes, some with an amazing seafront location.
