Studying the earliest years

At the Essex Babylab, we explore how babies and young children learn and develop.

Using playful, child-friendly activities, we study a range of topics in early development, such as imitation, body awareness, emerging eating habits, and early communication and social development.

How to take part

We can’t do this without you!

If you are pregnant or have a baby or a child under 3 years old, and you are interested in taking part in our research please sign up.

We’ll then be in touch when your baby or child is the right age for a study. There’s absolutely no pressure to take part, and you can choose which (if any) studies you'd like to attend.
