Clearing 2026

Entry requirements

Overview

  • This table is a summary of our expected Clearing entry requirements for undergraduate courses for 2026 entry.
  • Requirements and course availability may change. This information may be updated once Clearing opens in July and throughout the summer.
  • 'UCAS points' refers to UCAS tariff points from a minimum of two full A-levels (or equivalent), unless otherwise stated.
  • Specific subject and grade requirements must still be met where listed, even if your total UCAS points exceed the general requirement.
  • Foundation year courses typically require 56 UCAS points (DEE or equivalent) and may include subject-specific requirements such as a specific GCSE subject.
  • Full course details, including department information, can be found on Course Finder.
  • Each application is considered individually. If your grades are lower than outlined here, or if anything is unclear, contact us at admit@essex.ac.uk so we can provide personalised advice.
