Getting here and parking charges

By car:

Whether approaching Essex Sport Arena from London and the South or Ipswich and the North via the A12, take the exit marked Colchester (A1232/A120). Follow the A1232/Ipswich Road into Colchester for approximately 1 mile until you reach a roundabout. Turn left onto the A133 and drive straight along this road. You will reach a small roundabout. Take the second exit and continue straight until you reach a larger roundabout. Take the second exit to continue onto the A133. You will get to a set of traffic lights with the Knowledge Gateway to your right. Continue straight and merge onto the right hand lane where after 500 yards you should see the sign for The University of Essex and Wivenhoe (B1028). Take this right turn and follow the road past the first set of traffic lights. Shortly after you will see the main entrance to the University of Essex. Take this right turn onto Boundary Road. Follow this road and take the second right turn where you will see the multi-storey car park and Essex Sport Arena.

By train:

Colchester station, Colchester Town station, Wivenhoe station and Hythe stations are all between 10-15 minutes from Essex Sport Arena.

Trains run between London (Liverpool Street) and Colchester station every 10-20 minutes. The journey takes around an hour.

Also connect with Colchester from Norwich, Ipswich, Felixstowe & Harwich. Some trains from London (Liverpool Street) also stop at Wivenhoe Station. When travelling from the Clacton/Walton direction, alight at Wivenhoe or Hythe Stations.

By plane:

Stansted airport is approximately 45 minutes from Essex Sport Arena by car. Helicopter pad coordinates are 603200/223900

Car Parking

The Essex Sport Arena offers over 1000 care parking spaces, as well as coach parking within a 30 second walk. Car parking is free at weekends and after 4pm on weekdays

Weekday parking charges

Multi-storey car park (main visitor car park)

Parking charges are managed by automatic number plate recognition. Before you return to your car, enter your vehicle registration number at one of the pay machines in the car park stairwells. The multi-storey car park also has electric vehicle charging points.

Car Park B, Valley and North Towers car parks

Visit a pay station on arrival, enter your vehicle registration number and follow the on-screen instructions. You won't get a ticket to display as the system uses automatic number plate recognition, but you can request a receipt if you need one.
