Donate your pennies is an easy way for everyone at Essex to get involved in fundraising. Your net monthly pay is rounded down to the nearest pound, with the pennies going towards our scholarship initiatives, which supports talented students from across the world to study at Essex. As your maximum donation can be no more than 99p per month. Join the 1,000 members of staff at Essex already helping to raise over £500 a month via this scheme.
You can withdraw from the scheme at any time by emailing the payroll team.
Penny Piggybanks
Our Penny Piggybanks can be found in campus shops and venues. The pennies collected go towards our scholarship initiatives, which supports talented students from across the world to study at Essex.
These Piggybanks are a part of our fundraising scheme ‘Donate Your Pennies’ where staff members from the University opt-in to having their net pay rounded down each month to the nearest pound, with their pennies also going towards scholarship initiatives.
Give as you earn scheme
You can donate a set amount from your monthly pay via the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). The donation comes out pre-tax, so is a really efficient way to donate. You can choose any charity you wish to support, or more than one. All you have to do is visit:
