Profile

Biography

Caroline is a Tutor and Director at East 15, and specialises in screen acting. Caroline trained at Arts Educational and began her acting career working for Alan Ayckbourn, in the original cast of ‘A Chorus of Disapproval’. Further work with Ayckbourn included appearances in Scarborough, the Royal National Theatre and the West End. She was also part of the company that opened the Minerva Theatre in Chichester, under the direction of Sam Mendes. Thereafter, Caroline made numerous appearances on television, and became a familiar face playing the Paramedic ‘Jane Scott’ in BBC1’s ‘Casualty’. Excited by the technical skills involved in the creation of on-screen drama, she wrote and produced a short film, which played at various film festivals and was sold to TV stations around the world. This experience led her to move from being in front of the camera to working behind it as a writer/director. Caroline has produced and directed a number of short dramas, a series for Tara Television, and directed a variety of corporate films. Caroline’s freelance activity includes workshops at the Actors Centre and coaching professional actors for auditions and self-tapes. However, most of her time is dedicated to being a member of staff at the East 15 Loughton Campus, where she directs the majority of the screen work for the BA, BA International and MFA students.
