Biography

Roomi is a global public health (policy & research) professional, originally from Pakistan, having spent over a decade working in health systems and social sector development projects. By training, she is a medical doctor, with an MBA and is now completing her PhD in Public Health from University of Essex. In her PhD, she is exploring systemic and structural determinants of health workforce crisis with focus on gender. She is also the training lead for the NIHR funded global health research group GEMMS (GEMMS-research.org). Her current research interests include: • Human Resources for Health • Health Systems Strengthening & Social Determinants of Health • Migration & Health
