Library

Our Albert Sloman Library in Colchester overlooks the lakes in houses some of the UK's finest collections providing fascinating insight into Latin America, Russia and Eastern Europe. At Southend the Forum Library is a vibrant contemporary sp[ace with outstanding learning facilities.

Sport arena and sports facilities

Our brand new Sports Arena in Colchester has 1,655 seats and international standard facilities suitable for staging televised sporting events. The Arena contains eight adminton courts three basketball courts, three netball courts, five volleyball courts and two futsal courts.

Our learning facilities

The STEM Centre

Our latest addition to our Colchester Campus is our new STEM Centre. It includes 180-seat wet lab for out School of Life Sciences and a 150-seat IT-rich exploratory learning space to enable collaboration between students across our Faculty of Science and Health

State of the art teaching facilities for Healthcare Students

We have a functioning hospital ward with robot patients that can simulate a range of medical conditions. The space also includes six consultancy rooms which are equipped with camera to be used for practice consultations

Innovative learning spaces

You have easy-access to a wide range of study facilities across our campuses. In Colchester, work with your friends in our interactive group working spaces, the Limehouse and the Orangery, and our iconic Forum in Southend houses a mixture of pods and open-plan spaces for solo or group work.

Research facilities

Our excellent facilities and services support research excellence in social science, science and health, and the humanities. We are proud to offer our facilities and services, plus quality venues and business consultancy, to organisations and businesses choosing to work with us.

Childcare and nursery

Located in the beautiful and historic surroundings of our Colchester Campus, Wivenhoe Park Day Nursery offers childcare all year round for children of staff, students, staff and the general public.

We have a Robotics arenas housing robotic wheelchairs, spiders, dogs and much much more; a Law Clinic for our Law students to gain hands-on experience with real clients; there are theatres, such as the Lakeside Theatre in Colchester, the Cliftown Theatre in Southend, and Corbett Theatre at Loughton; our zero-carbon Essex Business School building, with a winter garden, cafe and plenty of breakout spaces. There really are too great facilities to list.
