Profile

Biography

Poul Rohleder is a clinical psychologist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist. He has a private practice in central London. He is a member of a task group on sexual and gender diversity within psychoanalysis at the British Psychoanalytic Council. He sits on the Scientific and Applied Activities committee of the British Psychotherapy Foundation. As well as a clinician, he is an active researcher and author. He has research interests in sexuality, diversity and marginalised identities. He has published several research papers on sexuality, sexual health and disability, as well as several books. He sits on the editorial board of the British Journal of Psychotherapy, Psychology & Sexuality; Psychology & Health; Journal of Health Psychology; Health Psychology Open; Qualitative Research in Psychology; and Methods in Psychology. He was an advisory member for the development of the new British Psychological Society Guidelines for Psychologists Working with Gender, Sexuality, and Relationship Diversity. He recently was principal investigator on a funded research project exploring and challenging the myths about the sexuality of people with physical disabilities in South Africa.
