Profile
Biography
Vahid received the Ph.D. degree from University of Surrey, Guildford, UK in 2011. He was a postdoctoral research assistant at Brunel University during 2012 and worked on compressive sensing for terahertz imaging (an EPSRC funded project). He then worked as an assistant professor at Shahrood University of Technology, Iran from 2013. Vahid joined University of Essex as a lecturer in July 2019. He is an IEEE Senior Member and won IEEE young investigator award in 2018. He has been a lead guest editor of International Journal of Biomedical Imaging and a reviwer of various conferences and journals such as IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE Signal Processing Letters, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks & Learning Systems, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, IET signal processing, and IET Image processing. His main research interests include sparse signal and image processing, biomedical signal processing, dictionary learning, compressed sensing, inverse problems, and blind source separation.
