Biography
Jennie Todd is currently (0.6 FTE) Lecturer in postgraduate research methods as part of the Interdisciplinary Research and Practice subject area (IDRP) in the School of Health and Social Care (HSC). Background/training in applied health psychology. Research interests include applying psychology to understand and change outcomes in health and illness, with a particular interest in qualitative methods used to understand the lived experience of asthma management. - 2001 Jennie joined the University of Essex as a Senior Research Officer (moving from the University of Southampton. She worked on a variety of funded projects and published a number of papers - as lead author and with HSC colleagues and ISER) - 2006-2009, undertook a PhD in Health Studies (supported by a full scholarship). - 2009 - 2012 (0.6 FTE) Programme Organiser for a BSc in Health Studies (scheme closed 2012). - 2012 - 2023 - Jennie led/taught HS215 Introduction to Health Psychology (offered across UoE and as CPD) - 2009-2012 (0.4 FTE) Research Advisor for the East of England Research Design Service (EoE, RDS). Jennie currently leads and teachers: - HS947-7 Theory and Methods in Health Research - HS948-7 Qualitative Health Research. - Internal moderator for cross campus programmes taught as part of HSC Lifelong Learning (apprenticeships) - Personal tutor - NIHR INSIGHT MRes students - Dissertation Supervisor (Masters) - Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACP) and INSIGHT MRes. - HS908 Data Collection, Interpretation and Analysis (team marking/leading seminars) - HS900 Critical Literature Review and Appraisal (team marking/support) - HS958 OT dissertations (team marking/support) - Professional Doctorate Programme (shared marking/support with programme lead) - PGR students (informal mentoring/research support for students auditing HS947 and HS948)
