Biography

Jenny has over 30 years industry experience in restaurants, hotels, bars, and events. Jennifer has worked for recognised hospitality brands including Whitbread, Hilton, and Crowne Plaza, Centreplate, Sodexo, and a leading corporate travel agency, as well as working across various independent brands in the UK and overseas including Australia and the USA. Jennifer manages weddings and private events in her spare time, as well as volunteering at sporting events to ensure her teaching content is current. Jennifer’s MBA focused on zero-hour contracts and staff motivation and her PhD research is on the impact of perimenopause and menopause on women in the hospitality workforce (commencing October 2025). Jennifer has contributed book chapters, ‘Management of Catering Outlets’ in The Practical Guide to Managing Event Venues (Berners, 2019, pp 77-87), and ‘Revenue Management in Licensed Retail’ in The Practical Guide to Understanding and Raising Hotel Profitability (Martin, 2020). Jennifer has authored the Practical Guide to Managing Human resources in Hospitality, Hotels and Events due to be published by Routledge in December 2025.
