Biography

It has been my pleasure to have been a SURG member for the University of Essex since 2017, helping share my experiences as a carer with students in the Schoool of Health and Social Care, taking part in candidate student interviews as an expert by their experiences, and in lectures. I am also a trustee and volunteer for my local autism charity group called 'Little Heroes ASD Support', and through them and the university been able to balance my care duties while studying. I have a keen interest both academically and personally with autism advocacy and social work. My past studies at Sheffield Hallam University led me to obtaining 'PgCert Autism and Aspergers' and 'MA Autism Spectrum' qualifications. Utilising the skills and experiences gained from these areas, I return back to our university to seek new ways to improve understanding and positive outcomes for neurodivergent people and those supporting them.

Qualifications

  • MA Autism Spectrum Sheffield Hallam Univeristy (2024)

  • PgCert Sheffield Hallam University (2022)
