Laboratory Technician, Dept of Biological Sciences, University of Essex.Responsibilities include providing technical support to teaching & research activities within the areas of Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and Microbiology; managing/organisation oflabs 4.25 & 4.09 including health & safety,providing written documentation forcommon lab procedures and chemical/equipment inventories,developing new methods, electrical safetytesting and maintenance of lab equipment. 2012-2013. Research interests

Cell Biology- including mammalian cell culture techniques,cell based plateassay screens, transient transfection of mammalian cell lines and production ofstable cell lines, production of E.coli competent cells

Molecular Biology- including primer design, PCR, DNA gel electrophoresis,bacterial transformation, DNA purification,DNA sequence analysis, CRISPR cloning, SDS PAGE electrophoresis & western blot.

Microbiology- basicmicrobial culture techniques.
